Roy H. Hanenberger, 90, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Stewartville Care Center.
Roy was born on April 5, 1934 to William and Vella (Parker) Hanenberger in Rochester, MN. In 1956 Roy married Elna Catherine Schlief in Rochester, MN. He worked at Erdman’s SuperValu for 41 years.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing Bingo.
Roy is survived by his sons, Anthony Hanenberger and Dean Hanenberger; brother, Walt Hanenberger; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elna Hanenberger; daughter, Cathy Carlson; sisters, Edith Schoenfelder and Lucille White; and brothers, Raymond Hanenberger, Alvin Hanenberger, and Edward Hanenberger.
Funeral service will be at 12pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Peace United Church of Christ, 1503 2nd Avenue NE, Rochester. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm. Pastor Paul Bauch will be officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
