Randall “Randy” Hundorf

 

Randall (Randy) Edward Hundorf age 59, of Rochester, formerly of Mazeppa died, January 18, 2022. He passed at home surrounded by loved ones.

Randy was born at Olmsted Hospital, Rochester on May 13, 1962 to Marlen and Elrose (Frutiger) Hundorf. He graduated from John Marshall in Rochester in 1981. He worked at Mayo Clinic for 31 years and other employment included the Bakery at Barlow food, Walmart, Hyvee. He was married to Shirley Staub on December 3,1988, together they had four children, Heidi, Maranda, Rebecca, Brianne. They later divorced.

Randy loved spending time with family, watching old western movies, liked to go fishing and listening to 80’s Classic rock. He also liked anything to do with guitars and eagles. While living in Mazeppa he was part of the volunteer fire department.

Randy is survived by his daughters, Maranda (Joe) Lerum of Pine Island; Rebecca (Joe) Buck of Stewartville; Brianne (Luke) Klingsporn of Pine Island; seven grandchildren, Carlene and Amelia Lerum, Ivy and Ava Buck, Ella, Ezra and Esmay Klingsporn; siblings Cindy (Gene) Bendickson, Rick, Rodney, Marlen Jr. Hundorf, and Kathy Schiell; foster sibling , Sharen (Jim) Preiss; Elaine Bergeron; Joey Galloway; lots of nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Marlen and Elrose Hundorf; daughter, Heidi; Sister, Tammy Hundorf; foster parents Art and Lorriane Bergeron; foster sibling Joe Bergeron.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church, 45 1st Avenue NE, Oronoco, MN with Pastor Roger Reidel officiating. Visitation will be 1pm-2pm prior to the service.

  1. My heart goes out to Randy’s widow, Dawn, and her two daughters, Kaitlyn and Brittany for their loss. Although I only met Randy a few times, it was enough to know that he was a funny and fun-loving guy. I’ll never forget him and Dawn coming over one New Year’s Eve with fresh grilled steak and fixin’s, firecrackers, and the works… just so I could have some fun and not ring in the New Year alone. Every day will now be beautiful and pain-free, Randy!
