Patricia Ann Christopherson Morland
May 22, 1938 – August 10, 2026
After a life filled with love, laughter and beautiful memories, Patricia Ann Christopherson Morland, 88, was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Richard H. Morland.
Patty was born on May 22, 1938, in Spring Valley, Minnesota to Lloyd and Cecila Christopherson.
In her early years, Patty spent many happy summers with her Uncle Dale and Aunt Ginny Cummings on their farm near Fountain, Minnesota. With no children of their own at the time, they welcomed Patty with open arms and made her summers there especially memorable. Although her birthday was in May, Ginny would organize summer birthday celebrations filled with neighborhood children her own age.
Her summers were filled with horseback riding, watching outdoor movies on Main Street, and spending time with friends. She also had a playful sense of humor and enjoyed a good practical joke, especially when it came to her Uncle Dale. One of her favorites was pulling the stool out just as he was about to sit down to milk a cow.
Early in her career, Patty worked as an X-ray technician and later in purchasing and payroll accounting.
She met the love of her life, Dick, at Shakeproof, a division of ITW, where they both worked. As fate would have it, they found their way to one another and married in 1962. Their 57 years together were filled with countless adventures and cherished memories. They treasured their time on the water aboard their various boats, each affectionately named “The Patty Wagon”.
Their home was filled with even more love and happiness with the addition of their beloved dogs, who were family in every sense of the word.
If you knew Patty, you knew you were loved. She had a way of making people feel special — not through grand gestures, but through the thought, creativity and care she put into everything she did. She created lasting memories during summer vacation visits, Black Friday shopping, magical Christmas Eves, countless craft projects and fun-filled parties with painstakingly prepared hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. She took great joy in giving gifts and seeing the smiles they brought.
Life came full circle when Patty returned to Minnesota, where she spent the last year and a half at The Waters on Mayowood. She shared many happy times with new friends and discovered a love for mahjong.
Patty leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who was made better by having her in it. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Helen (Robert) Zimmerman; nephew, Douglas (Janna) Zimmerman; niece, Dawn (Matthew) Langellier; grandnieces, Matlyn (Kasey) Burst and Elin (Nick) Stueber; grandnephew, Cole Langellier; first cousins Thomas (Nancy) Cummings, Teresa (Bruce) Hoff, and J. Michael (Marie) Cummings; and many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
Pat’s smile could light up a space – be that an elevator, or a table for a meal or a game, or the hallways as she zipped around on her scooter, or even in the garage as she paused in her comings/goings. Each encounter, she viewed as a chance to have a little chat, share a story, or laugh (and what a great laugh!) about some goofy thing, or share an encouraging word. Getting to know her during her time at The Waters on Mayowood was a joy. May you, as Pat’s family, find comfort in your own memories of this remarkable woman who was much appreciated & loved here and now is greatly missed – and who impacted so many so positively during her 88 years of being the amazing Pat.
