Owen “Bud” Edward Benton Jr., age 85, of Plainview died on Monday, April 19, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
Owen was born on September 12, 1935 in Mankato, MN to Owen Edward Benton Sr. and Vernona (Pischner) Benton. He attended high school in Mankato. He served in the US Military overseas. Owen and Beverly were married April 9, 1960 at The Little Brown Church in Northwood, IA. He worked for Piepho Moving and Storage (Allied) for over 40 years and through that time he received many driver of the year awards.
Owen enjoyed being outdoors, doing yard work, reading, driving truck and watching the news. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a great father, grandfather and loved by all. He will be missed greatly.
Owen is survived by three children, Peter (Bylle) Benton of Amboy, MN, Bradley (Terri Dormady) Benton of Plainview, Brenda Benton of Rochester; brother, Gordon (Lizeth) Benton of Huntsville, AL; sister, Marcy (Gene) Wytaske of Mankato, MN; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Owen is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents; son, Donald; siblings, Audrey, June, Ginner, and Bob.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at grandson Josh Benton’s house (512 9th Street SE, Rochester, MN 55904.)

Brenda, So sorry for your loss. We moved to Montana before your folks were married so didn’t get to know your father very well. I will look in our old photos and see if I can find some pictures of them past down from my Mom.
