Nancy Anna Zaske (Probasco) 1944 – 2025
Nancy Anna Zaske, 80, passed away on February 7, 2025, in Rochester, Minnesota.
Nancy was born on April 28, 1944, in St. Paul, MN, to Dan and Irene Probasco. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom and a wonderful homemaker. After her children grew up, she dedicated much of her career to serving others through her work at Mille Lacs Health System and Nursing Home in Onamia, MN. Her commitment to care and compassion touched many lives
throughout the years.
As a devout Christian, Nancy faithfully attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, where she found strength and community in her faith.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Zaske; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and LeAnne Zaske of Rochester, MN; her daughters and sons-in-law, Alesha & Dana Gave of Foreston, MN, and Shelly & Jim Crowson of Dodge Center, MN. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren—Danielle, Nate, Kim, Amber, Jordan, William and Kayley—as well as eight great-grandchildren: Max, Addie, Reece, Caleb, Damon, Alex, Dax and Ava. Nancy is also survived by her sisters Sylvia (Don) and Gloria (Dave), along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Dan & Irene Probasco, as well as her sisters Geraldine Ethridge and Linda Drum.
A small gathering with Nancy’s husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will take place soon. In the spring, a Mass & Celebration-of-Life gathering will be held in Onamia, Minnesota; details will be shared later.
Nancy’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her
We are so sad to hear of Nancy’s passing. We lived across the street from them at a mobile home court in Willernie. Praying for peace for your family as you grieve your loss.
