Marshall J. Sveska was born June 7, 1948, in Veblen, SD to Thresa (Doyle) and Ralph Sveska. Marshall was the second of 4 children, including Mary, Michael, and Monica.
Marshall attended Grand Meadow High School, where he participated in Track and Field (shot put), Wrestling, and went All State in Football as a tight end. After high school, Marshall attended trade school in Austin, MN, where he focused on Autobody Repair. Marshall married Charlotte Royce in August 1969. Shortly after tying the knot, Marshall was drafted into the US Army. He did his basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, then off to Korea to serve in the Vietnam War. While in Korea, Marshall worked with the local orphanage in his spare time, where he fell in love with a little boy he called Tony. Upon returning to the States, Marshall began working for Custom Truck, where he met his friends and future bosses at Progressive Truck and Body Repair. His daughter, Jennifer, was born in 1978. After retirement from working on trucks, Marshall went to work for Walmart. During this time in life, he was active with the VFW, even serving as Commander. Marshall was also part of the Korean War Veterans Group.
Marshall passed away on August 29, 2023 shortly after losing Charlotte on June 25.
A celebration of life will be held at the Rochester VFW on Sunday September 3rd from 11-1.

Marshall was a great guy. Worked with him for close to 30 years.there wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for you. Hi daughter Jen was the most important person to him . He had many stories about High School sports. He will be remembered and missed . Prayers for the family
