Lois Anderson

Lois (Klingbeil) Anderson, age 90, was called home to be with her LORD on May 12, 2026, in Rochester, Minnesota.

Lois was born to Edwin and Violet Klingbeil on March 31, 1936, in the township of Marquette in Green Lake County, Wisconsin. She lived there with her family until graduating from Montello High School before moving to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, soon after.

On June 25, 1955, Lois married the love of her life, Veldyn “Vel” Anderson. Together they built a loving home and raised their family in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, where they spent the early years of their nearly 70-year marriage. In the early 2000s, Lois and Vel moved to Stewartville, Minnesota. As the years went by, they eventually made their home at Samaritan Bethany in Rochester, Minnesota.

Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. A woman of deep faith, she loved the Lord and lived her life with kindness, warmth and compassion. Along with her devotion to God, faith and family, Lois also enjoyed traveling, painting, crafting, baking, writing and singing.

She was a wonderful mother to her three daughters: Gail (Jan) Porter of Austin, Minnesota; Dawn Haller of Mondovi, Wisconsin; and Vicki (Ron) Roder of Spencer, Wisconsin.

Lois is lovingly survived by her daughters; her grandchildren Michael, Nick, Joshua, Stephen, Abby, Ben, and Andie; her eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dale.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vel; her parents, Edwin and Violet Klingbeil; her sister, Donna; her brother, Gerald; and her grandson, Bryan.

An intimate memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Samaritan Bethany.

The family of Lois Anderson would especially like to thank all those who cared for her throughout the years at Samaritan Bethany, as well as the compassionate and caring staff at Mayo Clinic during the final days of her life.

Lois will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her loving heart, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

  2. Gail, Dawn, Vicki and families, My deepest condolences to all of you. Your mom was always so kind, and on June 14th 1975 She had made my sister Gail’s wedding cake! (probably a couple of days before)
I remember how beautiful it was with all the flowers, a water fountain, and those stairs leading to another layer! Cherish all of your memories of times spent together ❤️.
