Dale Eidem

Dale Gordon Eidem, 79, died on Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home.

Dale was born on November 15, 1946 to Burton and Adeline (Strain) Eidem in Olmsted County, MN. He graduated from John Marshall in 1964. Dale was a Vietnam Vet and honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1971. Dale married JoAnn Friedt on October 5, 1979 at St Francis Catholic Church in Rochester. He was a plumber for over 30 years.

Dale enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, hunting, camping, dice games, and westerns. Corey and his grandchildren were the love of his life.

Dale is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Corey (Molly) Eidem; grandchildren, Mazie, Lena, and Finn Eidem; sisters, Donna (Mike) Halloran, Judy (Gary) Thorson, Marie (Gary) Hansen, Deanna (Steve) Koenig; brother, Roger (Jackie Biester) Eidem; sister-in-law, Bonnie Eidem; mother-in-law, Lillian Friedt; and many nieces and nephews.

Dale is preceded by his parents; infant sister, Marie Eidem; brothers, Ronald, Gerald, and Edwin Eidem; sisters, Rosemary (Eidem) Schmidt, Beverly (Eidem) Kirkeeng; father-in-law, Tony Friedt; and nephews, Jeffrey, Aaron, and Jeremy.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 22 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, 1300 Marion Road SE, Rochester, with a celebration of life to follow from 12-3pm at the Eagles Club, 917 15th Avenue SE, Rochester.

  2. Dale was like a brother and a very good friend of mine I will miss him a lot he always was willing to help me and others enjoyed our fishing trips open water and on the ice. He is in a good place now

  4. Words can’t express the sadness I feel over the loss of such a dear, close friend. My most sincere condolences to JoAnn, Cory & Molly, and those 3 adorable grandchildren. Some wonderful memories of our trips to Marquette in the U.P. which curtailed when I left my home. My family & friends all agree…Dale Eidem is truly an Honorary Yooper! Rest in peace my dear friend.

  5. George and I are saddened that our “Brother” Dale has passed. He was a wonderful friend to my brother Bill. He was forever concerned for Bill’s health and we had many conversations about his well being. Thank you to Joanne and Corey for sharing Dale with our family. Our prayers and wishes for peace are with you during this difficult time.

  6. I am saddened to hear of Dales passing, he was my plumber when I built my house outside of Eyota in 1998, it was a pleasure to get to know him, my deepest condolences.
