Arliene Kalstabakken, 72 of Pine Island, MN passed away peacefully at home with family on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Arliene was born September 28, 1948 in Milton Township, MN to Archie and Evelyn Ellefson. She married her best friend, Dale Kalstabakken on June 3, 1983 in Stewartville, MN. They raised their then newly combined families in Pine Island, MN. She retired from the Mayo Clinic after 30 years of service.
In later years, Arliene enjoyed spending time with what she treasured most, family. Including adventures with grandchildren and many travel excursions with Dale.
Arliene is survived by her beloved husband Dale; her loving children Jodi (Matt) Hagen, Becky (Mike) Brainard, Dawn (Corey) Lenn, Dean (Chele) Kalstabakken, and Dan Kalstabakken; her grandchildren Mikayla, Mariah, Mackenzie, Caitlyn, Justin, Zach, Matthew, Tristan, and Wyndum; and her siblings Shirley Hoke, Archie Ellefson, and DeDe Ellefson. Arliene also leaves behind many close friends and family whose hearts she has touched.
Arliene was preceded in death by her infant daughter Jolene Lynn Leslie; her siblings Robert Wright, Beverly Robertson, Barbara Widholm, Richard Ellefson; and her parents.
Following her wishes, there will be no funeral ceremony. Her burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Preston. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.

Arliene has been our friend for 50 years. Marcy graduated with her and I graduated with her sister,Barb. She was a sweet and smiling soul. I am so sorry that she had to have cancer. Now she is at peace and her burdens are gone. I will always remember her and her siblings for overcoming obstacles that they faced. Goodbye Arliene. Rest In Peace.

Arliene was our cousin, Mom/Evelyn Tmbeross and her dad/Archie were siblings. I was very sad to hear of her passing. Arliene was one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever known. Rest in Peace you wonderful Soul, you will have special place in Heaven…..

I was so sad to hear of Arliene’s passing. I’ve been friends with her for over 50 years. We graduated together, and I have so many fond memories from our high school days. God definitely gained a beautiful angel when he got her. RIP my friend, and fly high with the angels.
