Arden John Henry, 79, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Arden was born on February 20, 1947, in Decorah, Iowa, to Rose McGee and Richard Henry. As the seventh of eighteen children, Arden grew up in a lively household where he quickly learned how to keep everyone on their toes—a trait that would stay with him throughout his life.
On May 3, 1969, Arden married Barbra Jean Demarce in Houston County, Minnesota. Together, they welcomed their son, Arden John Henry Jr., on April 19, 1970. Later in life, Arden shared a meaningful relationship with Sharon Wayman, and during their time together, they were blessed with three children: Jennifer Henry, Anita Henry, and Adam Wayman. Though life led them in different directions, Arden continued forward, embracing life with independence and spirit.
Arden found his greatest joy in his family—especially his grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether teaching them how to camp and fish or taking them along on his adventures searching for hidden treasures around town. His grandchildren brought him endless happiness and a sense of pride that filled his heart.
In his later years, Arden became a familiar and beloved presence around town. If you knew him, you likely spotted him on his scooter at Savers or Goodwill, always on the hunt for a great find. He had a deep love for being out and about and rarely stayed inside, even on the hottest summer days or the coldest Minnesota winters. His adventurous spirit and determination were truly unmatched.
Arden is survived by his children: Arden John Henry Jr., Jennifer Henry, Anita Henry, and Adam Wayman; his cherished grandchildren Kevin Mead, Lucius Mead, Kalin Jones, Nicole Henry, Ryan Wayman, Dakota Mead, Chantel Henry, Alexander Scott, Brittany-Rose Mead, Avalon Scott, and Vontrell Dunbar; his beloved sixteen great-grandchildren; and several siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose McGee and Richard Henry; some of his siblings; Sharon Wayman, and 1 Granddaughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rochester Cremation in Rochester, Minnesota. Food will be served throughout the gathering, and guests are welcome to come and share memories as they please.
In honor of Arden, memorial contributions may be sent to Rochester Cremation in his name for the day of service.
Arden will be remembered for his lively spirit, his love of adventure, and most of all, the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be missed, I always enjoyed conversations with him, he was real, yet had a sense of humor and chewed that gum. R.I.P Arden.
