Alan Osborn


Alan Lee Osborn passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2023.

Alan was born on August 29, 1981 in St. Paul, MN to Juliann “Julie” Osborn and Bruce Alan Lindorff. He moved to Rochester in 1986 and then to Stewartville, MN in 1987, where he attended Bonner Elementary. His family moved back to Rochester in 1990.

Alan loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. He was a goalie for many teams through Rochester Youth Hockey, and also played on baseball teams. His baseball team won 1st place in 1992 with Tom Bandy as the coach. He attended John Marshall High School and then Mayo where he was a goalie on both of their hockey teams. He dropped out of school his senior year but got his GED, scoring one of the highest scores in Minnesota.

Alan became a father on December 15, 2009 when his son, Damian Barrett was born, and again on May 16, 2011 when his daughter, Emerald Barrett was born.

Alan held many food service jobs. He taught himself to play guitar during the COVID shutdown and became pretty good. He loved classic rock, especially Led Zeppelin.

Alan is survived by his mother, Juliann “Julie” Dillon; sisters, Heidi Osborn, Michelle Cecena, and Lisa Lokken; son, Damian Barrett; daughter, Emerald Barrett; grandfather, Harold Osborn; and uncle, James Osborn.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandmother, LaVaughn Osborn; and uncle, Michael Osborn.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the North Star Bar from 3-6pm.

  1. julie and heidi i am so sorry for your loss.i will always remember alan for all that knowledge he had in his head.he definately was his mothers son.i am again at a loss for words

  2. I only communicated with Alan on Facebook & he was very sharp & feel bad we never met in person. RIP.
