Garold (Gary) Casler passed away on Friday August 26, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. He was one month shy of his 62nd birthday, having been born to Darrel (Bud) Casler and Ella Mae Iverson Casler on September 22, 1960.
Gary loved poetry and music. Composing his own works in both arts.
Gary was a very intelligent man who had many interests including meteorology, reading, debating and studying new things.
Gary worked at Montgomery Wards in Rochester till it’s closing and then decided to take a different path, taking care of the disabled at Hiawatha Homes.
He will be remembered for his wonderful and unusual sense of humor.
For also being a great friend to many, he was always ready to listen or to help in any way he could.

Gary and I worked together at Hiawatha Homes. He was a kind person and very patient as he worked with individuals who lived at Hiawatha. Conversations with Gary were never short. I truly enjoyed working with Gary. My condolences to his family.
RIP my ol’ friend
Gary lived up over the hill from me as a child. We graduated together from Chatfield. Yes, he was a very interesting person and will be missed. RIP Gary.. Debra Davidson Smith.. The neighbor over the hill
Gary and I first met each other at an electronic music composition class I was teaching at RCTC. Gary’s work in music as it related to math made it clear that he was a deep thinker and explorer of new ideas. Not only did he create wonderful music compositions, but his comments and enthusiasm for fellow student’s works helped create a fun and open learning experience for all.
My deepest condolences to Gary‘s family and friends and all those he impacted so positively during his time here. He will be greatly missed.
