  2. I don’t normally hold a lot of memories of coworkers, but coming to Charter House, Terry helped change that. Everyday one could expect some kind of sassy remark when asked to do something, but, of course, he would go do it with the genuine desire of helping his fellow coworkers and residents. Terry was a kid at heart, knowing how to make the residents laugh, pestering me after I did some silly prank on him. It was a good day when Terry was around, and his absence is already felt. My mind cannot believe he is gone, and I expect him to burst into our office space, hands on his hips, saying “What do you want?!” I’m going to miss our chocolate stealing, grouchy pants, kind hearted friend. You were loved and valued, Terry.

  14. One of the kindest people I ever have known. One of my first friends in Mazeppa, from riding the same bus to school, and classmates til graduation.

I will always have a new found fondness of the sunrise and it setting.

  15. My siblings and I have many memories that involve Terry. He worked for my father on the farm. And we got into a lot of trouble. Going pumpkin hunting and Losing the muffler on the farm truck. We would help him with his demo cars trying not to get in the way of his turkeys that looked more like an ostrich. He would put his hands on his hips, give you a look and say “What did you do now”. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

  16. We were shocked and heartbroken to hear about Terry’s death. He was one of the first staff members we met as we were moving into Charter House last year. And, he was especially helpful and welcoming to us! Ever since then, whenever we would see him, he was always smiling, cheerful and helpful. He was a hard worker and always moving and doing things to help the residents including often being the one who went floor to floor checking our door tabs each morning to see if we were OK. I know that Diane and other members of the Resident Service Center relied on him and trusted him to capably fill in at the front desk to allow them to take breaks. On numerous occasions, we had the opportunity to observe him interacting with residents, guests, and sometimes his fellow staff members in answering their questions, assisting them and cheerfully interacting with them. He was always, noticeably and memorably courteous, respectful and helpful. We thought very highly of him, and we will really miss him. Our condolences to his family.

  17. When I moved into Charter House last fall, Terry was one of the first staff members I met. Within a week, we were on a first name basis, and he never failed to greet me and kid with me when we would meet in the building. His smile and warm personality instantly made me feel at home. I will always be grateful. Thank you for sharing him with us.

  18. My deepest sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful spirit.
I met Terry at a unique time as a door screener at Charter House in August 2020 in my new to Mayo job in the early days of the pandemic. Terry was my first “customer” of the day at 5:15am. Not a day went by without welcoming him into the screening room with his jaunty stride, irreverent quips and a mischievous twinkle in his eye that set the tone for the day.
To say Terry was well liked at Charter House is a understatement. He has left us much too soon. I am blessed to have known him if only for such a short time.

My thoughts are with his friends and family.

  19. Sorry for your loss, remember Terry and worked with him. I was a housekeeper when he worked as a custodian. He will be sadly missed!

  20. We would like to offer our sympathy to the Perrotti family on the loss Terry.
