Robert “Bob” M. Jones, age 66, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at home after a long illness.
Bob was born September 3, 1955 in Rochester, New York to John and Irmgard (Spiegler) Jones. He lived in several states and countries through his lifetime and ended up in Minnesota for the past 46 years. Bob was injured in the Vietnam conflict and received an honorable discharge shortly after that from the U.S. Army. Bob and Jill were married in 1991 and together they had two children. He was co-owner of R & J Painters but retired from active painting in 1993 due to his declining health. He stayed active in an administrative role until his passing.
Bob was a passionate advocate for animals, an avid reader, and very interested in current events. He was a supporter of his favorite charities, Channel One and Paws and Claws. He had a generous spirit and was always willing to help those in need.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jill; his son, Kyle Jones of Denver, CO; daughter, Aleah (Michael) Gammell of Rochester, MN; 2 grandchildren, Via and Kyren Gammell; sister, Catherine McEnearney of North Carolina and her 2 daughters, Colleen and Allison; niece, Beth Abbott of Stewartville, MN; loved in-laws, Mary Lou, Truman, Sheri, Wendy, Clifford, and Pam; and many cherished friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and several beloved pets.
Memorial service will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Crosswinds Church, 8106 31st Avenue, Oronoco, MN.

Uncle Bob was someone that I will always remember for the rest of my life. He helped my sisters and I growing up and will always be remembered for being there. Many good times hauling firewood or riding in the back of his Izuzu in the 80’s or piling 6 people in a standard cab without seatbelts (gasp, how did we survive doing such dangerous things!?) as well as many Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, yorkshire pudding, and many bottles of Pepsi. Thanks for being there and caring Bob, and may you rest in peace.
