Ruth Mary Thompson (Erickson), age 71, died in St. Croix Hospice at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 2, 2021 after a short illness with cancer.
Ruth was born on July 14, 1949 in Rochester, MN to Lloyd and Isabelle (Forte) Erickson. She lived in Spring Valley, MN. She married Jerry Thompson and they later divorced. She worked and retired at TCS. She was currently working at Elaine’s Cafe.
Ruth enjoyed going to Treasure Island and Las Vegas. She was an avid Twins fan. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Always had a smile. She loved to meet new people.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Vicki McConnell; granddaughters, Keisha (Carlos) Arcia, Shinead McConnell (Jose Luis Otero Trinidad), Kindra (Michael) Baker; great-grandchildren, Carlos, Zeke, Sevastian, Savannah, Sabrina; sisters, Marilyn (Dave), Joyce, Carol (Ted), Sharon, Janet, Diane (Larry); aunt, Jeanette Erickson; 9 nieces; and 5 nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Isabelle Erickson.
Celebration of Life will be in the Spring of 2021.

My sympathy on the lose of your Mom. It leaves a hole in your heart. We only get one mother. It hurts, no matter how old we are. She suffered a long time. You were so good to be her caretaker. Being a caretaker is exhausting. I hope you can take time to relax
and get some rest.
