Charles Syverson 1926-2026
Charles Willis Syverson, 99, of Wanamingo, MN died Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home.
He was born on December 1, 1926, to Herman and Edith Syverson. He attended country school in Roscoe.
He married Betty Schleeter on June 5, 1949, in Mantorville, MN. They made their home in Roscoe Township where they raised their four children. Charles was a lifelong farmer he began as a dairy farmer and later raised Black Angus beef cattle. He farmed with his son, Wayne. He enjoyed taking drives in the country to check on their crops and cattle. He also enjoyed gardening and especially fishing.
He is survived by his children; Marlys Syverson (Shakopee), Wayne Syverson (Wanamingo), Mardell (Jim) Way (Kenyon). Grandchildren; Mike (fiancé Kiersten) Way and Alyssa Way. Great grandchildren; Sawyer, Levi, Ben, and Louella; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his son, Gary; and sister, Lucille Ronningen.
A private family burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.
