Weiliang “WL” Loh, age 88, of Rochester, Minnesota, and formerly of Lakeview, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born September 10, 1932, in Shanghai, China.
WL was an emeritus professor from the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Prior to returning to academia, he was a licensed Master Mariner and captained many ocean-going vessels. He enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and arts. His landscape oil paintings were enjoyed by many visitors during art exhibitions.
In 1963 he married Sharon Wade and to this union were born two sons, Gary Chiamay and Michael Chialin. Also surviving are two brothers and their wives; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law and his wife; and nieces, nephews and their children.
WL is preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
WL will be buried in Greenbush, Wisconsin.
