Virginia “Ginny” Kish

 

Virginia “Ginny” Ann Kish, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Pine Island, MN.

Ginny was born in Pine Island on January 10, 1951, to Lloyd and Joyce (Hegre) Pike. She was the 3rd youngest of 10 children. Ginny grew up and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1969.

On January 12, 1971, Ginny married Gary Kish, of Zumbrota, and moved to rural Zumbrota where they raised 3 children and farmed. In 2008 Ginny and Gary moved to Rochester and soon after she retired from Mayo Clinic after 25 years of employment.

Ginny’s greatest love was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed hosting parties, cards, decorating, and crafts.

She is survived by her son, Roger Kish of Sydney, MT.; 2 daughters Jennifer (Jason) Outcalt of Zumbrota, and Amanda Reiser of Stewartville; 3 grandchildren, Kailey, Parker, Morgan. And so many other family members and lifetime friends.

Ginny was proceeded in death by her parents Lloyd and Joyce Pike, her 2 brothers; Wesley and John Pike; sister Alice Bicknese; and her husband Gary Kish.

A special thank you to the staff at Pine Haven Care Center and Mayo Hospice for their support and care of Ginny.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Pine Island Legion in Pine Island, MN from 1:00-4:00pm with a short service at 2:00pm.
