With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Thelma Eilene Gaspar (née Joseph), who peacefully passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 89.
Thelma was born on August 19, 1936, in Bellevue, Ohio, to a family of eleven siblings. Through the years, she witnessed the passing of many loved ones and is survived by her sisters, Helen
and Ethel, the last remaining members of her original family. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Thelma began her career as a ticket agent with Eastern Airlines and later TWA, where she enjoyed helping travelers and meeting people from all walks of life. She later built a successful career in Human Resources with Western Digital, where she remained until her retirement. She approached every role with professionalism, kindness, and an unwavering work ethic.
Above all else, Thelma’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose care, wisdom, and steadfast love left a lasting impression on those
fortunate enough to know her. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Amy; her grandchildren, Jessica, Kristopher, Scott, and Wyatt; and her seven cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ludwig “John” Gaspar, who passed away on May 30, 2015. After more than a decade apart, they are together once again.
Thelma’s legacy is one of resilience, devotion to family, quiet strength, and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she is no longer with us in person, her love, guidance, and the countless memories she created will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her, and may her memory forever be a source of comfort and love to all who knew her.
