Steven “Tev” Edward Rusch of Neenah, Wisconsin passed away on April 5th, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota from a very rare form of brain cancer. He was 59.
Steve was born on January 10, 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Marvin and Carol (Blake) Rusch. His family moved to Lena, Wisconsin in 1969. He graduated from Lena High Shool in 1982 and received a degree in Occupational Health and Safety from University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1986. He went on to use his degree throughout his career, most recently, as a Safety Director at Corcoran Glass and Paint.
On October 31, 1998 he married his wife Suzanne Rampelberg, in Ashland, Wisconsin. He and Suzanne have 2 children. Steve loved to go on his annual fishing trips to Canada. He enjoyed being outside, whether that involved smoking a pork shoulder (or eight), hosting large parties in the backyard, cutting down trees, or wandering around his property. He didn’t get to see a day of retirement, but Steve was a busy bee and never liked to sit still for too long. Steve lived to help others in any capacity he could and treated everyone like family, he would want others to do the same in his honor.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Carol, grandparents, and his stepmother Carol Burdey. Steve is survived by his wife Suzanne; his daughter, Angela (Tyler) Carpenter; and his son, Nicholas; sister Marcy (Scott) Wolfe; brother Michael (Rhonda) Rusch; step siblings Steve, Tom, Tammy and Monte; many nieces, nephews and countless others who knew him as “Uncle Steve/Tev”. And we cannot forget his beloved four legged “kids”, Nora and Blue.
His family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN for their care and compassion.
His family is holding a Celebration of Life, at his favorite bar & grill, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to GoFundMe to support his family or the Lymphoma Society.
