He was a member of the local chapter of the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA). He made many contributions of both time and energy, assisting in working on projects at the airport terminal building, most recently building benches.
Aside from flying in his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was very grateful that he was able to attend a reunion in Texas with all of his siblings shortly before his death.
Memorials made will be used to establish a scholarship to encourage potential flyers. He was a strong believer in trying to increase membership to the aviation field and the EAA chapter.
