Richard Lawrence Morken, 79, died Friday, November 29, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus.
Richard was born on May 16, 1945 in Red Wing, MN to Lawrence and Ruth (Olson) Morken. He graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1963. He worked at Wanamingo Lumberyard. Richard owned a carpentry business called Morken Erection Services. He lived in Rochester most of his life.
Richard loved playing piano, living it up with his friends, and living his life. He was a fun guy to be around.
Richard is survived by his sister, Cynthia (Morken) Swarthout and her husband, Jeffrey Swarthout; son, Chad Morken; 3 grandchildren, Quintin, Andrew and Elisabeth Morken; niece, Sheila (Steve) Christen; nephews, Tim (Nancy) Swarthout and Scott Swarthout; 2 great nephews; and 4 great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ruth (Olson) Morken; sister, Donna (Roger) Thompson; niece, Wendy Thompson; and nephews, Mike Thompson and Randy Thompson.
