Marlin Meyer

 

Marlin William Meyer, 77, died Monday, August 12, 2024, at his home.

Marlin was born on January 15, 1947 to Quentin and Betty (Schmidt) Meyer in New Haven, IA. He graduated from St Mary’s Academy in 1965. Marlin received an honorable discharge after serving in the military from 1966-1968. He was a handyman, seasonal worker at the Apple Ridge Orchard, and a farm helper.

Marlin loved being outside, nature, fishing, music, hunting, and Green Bay Packers football. He loved telling stories of his past experiences in life and made friends everywhere he went.

Marlin is survived by his mother, Betty (Schmidt) Meyer; children, Penny Meyer of Austin, MN, Bobbi (Aaron) Baxter of Troy, OH, Travis Perzynski of Mazeppa, MN, Tara Nail of Rochester, MN, and Haley Perzynski of Rochester, MN; siblings, Kenneth (Becky) Meyer of Mason City, IA, and Thomas Meyer of Point of Rocks, MD; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Marlin was preceded in death by his father, Quentin Meyer; and sister, Joyce Meyer.

A celebration of life will be 12-4pm on Sunday, August 25 at American Legion Post 588, 245 1st Avenue North, Mazeppa, MN  55956.

  1. I was saddened when I heard about Marlin’s passing. I am glad that I got to see him this spring. I will be at the Celebration of Life on Sunday. I have made a donation to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
