Lila Marie Cotten Hanson passed away at 90 years of age on October 16th, 2025 in Rochester MN. She was receiving comfort care and was surrounded by loved ones.
Lila was born to Earl and Halma Cotten and graduated from Mantorville High School in 1953. One of her favorite experiences was skiing in the mountains. She was also fascinated by marine life and dreamed of exploring the ocean. In 1967 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and in 1977 married Eugene Hanson. The two of them took many roadtrips along the West Coast. As a new grandma and great grandma, Lila is remembered for her kindhearted, fun-loving personality.
Lila is survived by 4 of her 7 brothers; Daverl, Harvey, and Larry Cotten and half brother Alvin Hunger. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Darrell, Richard, and Randy.
Lila cared deeply about people and enjoyed sharing encouraging Bible verses with others. She easily made conversation with anyone around her and will be remembered for her optimism and cheery disposition.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 8th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Rochester, MN.
