Lawrence Fraki, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, with family by his side at Cascade Creek Memory Care in Rochester.
Larry was born on February 4, 1936, in Leaf Lake Township to Lydia and William Fraki. He was a graduate of New York Mills High School. While Larry was working for the railroad he met and married Joy Springman in 1956. Larry and Joy were blessed with 5 children. When working for IBM he moved his family from the Chicago area to Pine Island MN. Larry retired from IBM in 1991.
Larry enjoyed camping, golfing, traveling, bowling, and loving his family. He was on the library board, a member of the Hill and Gully Snowmobile Riders, and was a Pine Island High School football chain gang member. He was active in the development of the Pine Island Golf Course.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Joy; parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and 1 grandchild.
Larry is survived by his children, Deborah Swarthout, Jeff (Stephanie) Fraki, Nancy (David) Lexvold, Susan (Kevin) Nelson, and Michelle Wiskow; 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew), Patricia, Matthew, Terry (Ginger), Angela, Andrew, Amy (Michael), Megan, Adam, Ryan, and Jacob; and 4 great grandchildren, Jackson, Kaylee, Sullivan, and Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 12-2pm at the Rochester Cremation Services, 1605 Civic Center Drive NW, Rochester, MN on Saturday, February 17, 2024. After the service there will be a burial in Pine Island Cemetery.
Family request memorials be given in Larry’s name to the St. Croix Hospice Rochester or Pine Island Area Homes Services.

So sorry for your loss. I remember talking to Larry when I’d visit my Dad (David Meek) at Cascade as well, such a nice man.
