Julie Lundberg, age 82, of Rochester, MN died peacefully March 16, 2024 from complications of dementia. She was born in Duluth to Alice (Lofgren) and Donald Lundberg and was a long-time resident of Rochester. Never married and leaving no descendants, she was fiercely independent and ever a lover of birds and animals – especially cats. She loved many things: Visiting and teasing with a small circle of friends, neighbors, and business and service people around town. Worshipping and socializing at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Scrounging for coupons and bargains and redeeming pop cans. Collecting stuffed animals. Driving her Clements Chevrolets while loudly playing her beloved gospel music. She supported herself by many jobs: Waitress, Beautician, Senior Companion, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Frugal financially and lavish in loyalty and story-telling. Now in the arms of her Savior, Jesus, she leaves behind a rich heritage of memories tender, silly, and unforgettable.
She is survived by many cousins in the Grandt, Lofgren, and Amundson families of the Twin Cities, and the Anderson families of Duluth.
Special thanks to: Her ever-faithful friend, Judy Teed. To her doctor, Majken Wingo. To LuAnn and Deb at Home Federal. To neighbor, Mike. To long-patient volunteers, Ron and Shirley. To the kind staff of Clements Chevrolet. To Tom at Kwik Trip. To the wonderful staff of The Homestead of Rochester. To the wonderfully sensitive and compassionate staff of Seasons Hospice. To the Elder Law Office of Julianne Kocer. And to the thoughtful staff of Rochester Cremation. A private interment was held March 19, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester
Sorry about your loss. Just found out today. I and my sister enjoyed visiting Julie at homestead. I dropped in when I worked there. Was doing travel nursing so missed her last days.
She was a great employee working for me.
