John Henry Remker, 90, died Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Chosen Valley Care Center, Chatfield, MN.
John was born on February 8, 1934 in Austin, MN to John W. and Irene B. (Johnson) Remker. He graduated from St. Augustine Catholic School in Austin, MN. John married Beverly A. Ehmke on July 11, 1959 at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brownsdale, MN. He served in the US Navy from 1953-1957 and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked in the medical field in Lab/X-Ray for many years. He was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
John loved riding his Schwinn Bicycle around town and enjoyed watching game shows such as The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.
John is survived by his wife, Beverly; his son, Todd J Remker of Rochester, MN; daughters, Jane (Bruce) Kraut of Spring Valley, MN, Teresa (Randy) Stackhouse of Spring Valley, MN, Janna (Mike) Michel of Rochester, MN, and Monica (Daniel) Morcom of Rochester, MN; brother, Robert P. Remker of Blooming Prairie, MN; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Peter Remker; sister, Beverly Remker; great granddaughter, Bailee A. Stackhouse; and nephew, Thomas P. Remker.
At John’s request there will be no visitation or formal services. The family would like to thank Traditions of Preston, Chosen Valley Care Center, Interim Healthcare Hospice, and Mayo Clinic Palliative/Hospice Care Team.
