Ilene Tuve, 72, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 at St Marys Hospital.
She was born Ilene Francise Grossbach on January 31, 1953 to Carol Eugene and Elizabeth Francise (Long) Grossbach at the Lake City Hospital. They lived in Zumbro Falls. In 1958 they moved to Mazeppa, MN. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1971. Ilene was baptized, confirmed, and married in St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mazeppa. She married Bruce Tuve and later divorced. After graduation she went to work at Zumco, Inc. and Decora Cabinets both in Zumbrota. She worked at Rochester Meats until retirement. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Ilene lived her life her way. She loved Country music and loved to sing. She was surrounded by many people she was proud to call her friends. And as time went on she was proud to call them family.
Ilene was very kindhearted. She was always willing to help anyone in need, especially her nieces and nephews.
Ilene is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Grossbach of Mazeppa; sisters, Dorothy (Herb) Erickson of Rochester, Patty (Lowell) Koelsch and Jenny Sommerfield both of Zumbrota; Aunt Marge Freeze of Bondurant, IA; Uncle Larry (Linda) Long of Corydon, IA; and nephews, nieces, and many cousins.
A celebration of life is planned for November 8, 2025 at the Mazeppa American Legion in Mazeppa, MN at 11:00 a.m.
I am so very very sorry to hear this news about Ilene. You all have my sympathy and heartfill knowing that she left us way before her time. I worry about Betty now. Please let our Lord make peace in your heart and take care of mom girls
