Dianne Katherine (LaVan) Miller, 69, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her home after her 1 year lung cancer diagnosis.
Dianne was born on September 21, 1956 in Mazeppa, MN to Joseph A. and Rosalia D. (Palzer) LaVan. Dianne started dating Gerald Miller in September 1974 and they married on October 20, 1979 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa, MN.
Dianne graduated from John Marshall in 1974 and Vo-Tech Community College in Rochester, MN in 1975. She was a legal secretary for Swan & Pougiales from 1975-1977 and Lund & Patterson from 1977-2000; Deputy Court Administrator for Dodge County Court House from 2000-2001; and Hansen Law Office in Kasson, MN from 2002-2006.
Dianne enjoyed going to the casino, driving the gator around the property, going to Viola Gofer Count, spoiling her pets, spending time with her grandchildren, going camping and pontooning.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Gerald; children, Randal Miller of Mantorville, MN and Rebecca (Anthony) Denny of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Maximus Miller and Rosalee Denny; brother, Larry LaVan of Rochester, MN; and sister, Barbara Yokiel of Rochester, MN.
Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Rosalia and Joseph LaVan; sister, Elizabeth Schimek; and brother, Michael LaVan.
Memorials may be given to the family.
A memorial service will be at 11am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Rochester Cremation Services, 1605 Civic Center Drive NW, Rochester, with visitation one hour prior to service. Father Nick Mezacapa will be officiating. Luncheon will follow service from 12:30-5pm at 2661 60th Avenue SE, Rochester, MN.
