Delores Irene Archer, age 88 of Pine Island passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
She was born on May 23, 1937 in Dodge County, MN to John Austin & Agnes Irene (Quick) Dunagan. Delores graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester. In Oct 1956 she married the love of her life John M. Archer. The two made their home in Pine Island and began raising their family. She was a longtime member of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Pine Island, active in Pine Island Senior Citizens. She and John loved playing cards. She was a fulltime mom to seven children in her younger married years. After her youngest child went to school, Delores began her career in Real Estate for several years, worked in bookkeeping and eventually became a Tax Consultant managing the H & R Block office for many years in Zumbrota. She eventually owned & operated her own tax business in Pine Island.
Delores is survived by six children: Steve (Roger Guenther), Debbie (Brad Terhurne), Dan (Nancy), Kevin (Lorraine), Kathy (Scott Tweed), and James; her son-in-law Joe Timm; six grandchildren: Katie (Keith) Wartsbaugh, Megan (Jon) Zetzman, Krista (Phillip) Cervantes, Diane (Dryden) Evans, Noelle & Jillian Archer; and six great grandchildren: Matthew & Sarah Zetzman, Mariah Childrey, Elizabeth, Olive, & Eli Cervantes; and one great great grandson, Vinny; and her sister-in-law Dixie Dunagan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John. Her parents, daughter Arlene Timm, granddaughter Dianne Timm, grandson Chris Childrey, and her brother Jack Dunagan.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11am on Tuesday, August 19 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 451 5th Street SW, Pine Island, MN with burial following in the Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30-11am prior to mass at the church with a luncheon back at the church following the burial.
