Daniel (Dan) Eugene White, 66, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026 in Grand Meadow, Minnesota after a long, courageous battle with COPD and cancer.
Dan was born on October 31, 1959 in Rochester, MN to Virgil and Mary (Johnston) White. He was the oldest of five children who were all raised on the family farm in Rochester. He married Sandra (Sandy) Kay Hagen on September 14, 1985. They had two sons, Brandon Daniel and Damien Lee who were Dan’s proudest achievements. Dan and Sandy later divorced. In 2014, Dan welcomed his grandson, Nolan Robert White. As a devoted dog lover, Dan’s world revolved around his cherished Jack Russells, Georgia and Mitzi.
Being born on Halloween meant annual Halloween parties throughout the years, where he was truly the life of the party. Dan had a way of filling a room with stories and made everyone feel welcome. Whether surrounded by family, friends, or strangers who quickly become friends, Dan knew how to make moments memorable.
Dan is survived by his father, Virgil; sons, Brandon, Damien; grandson, Nolan; brother, Brett; sisters, Roxy (Steve) Roadway, Jenny White, Lynn White; nephews, Nik, Derek, Ian, Ryan; and nieces, Brittany and Tara. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary White.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Grand Meadow Senior Care and Mayo Hospice for their kindness, support, and compassionate care they provided for Dan. Special thanks to Sandy Monte and Debbie Engelking for their unwavering, life-long friendship and steadfast support to Dan over the years.
A private remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.
