Brenda Woida

Brenda Marie Woida, age 61, of Austin, MN, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on July 10th, 2024 after her courageous battle with cancer.

Brenda was born on March 14th, 1963 to Delmar and Mary Woida. She grew up in Richfield, Minnesota, and graduated from Richfield High School in 1981.

As a young girl, she loved spending time with her Grandparents, drinking coffee and telling stories. She grew up fiercely independent, and despite the many obstacles that life threw her, she never gave up and always rose above it.

Brenda loved helping others and would never hesitate to lend a hand or offer a listening ear to those in need. She was an avid card game player, loved board games and puzzles, and loved reading. She spent her free time watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, where she crushed every puzzle. She loved coffee, butterflies, Micky Mouse and anything Disney.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father Delmar Woida, and nephew Elvis Mejia. She is survived by her daughter, Tessa Stene Woida, her fiancé Kenny Fuller, her mother Mary Woida, siblings Bill (Chelo) Woida, Robert Woida, Bruce (Liana) Woida, and Liz (Jeff) Petersen. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, many cousins, aunts and uncles who loved her dearly.

She had a tremendous impact on so many lives, and will be forever missed. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.

A celebration of life and burial will be kept private, to immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hennepin County Medical Center Specialty Clinic (where she received outstanding treatment and love) as Brenda was passionate about helping other cancer fighters in need.
