Beverly Ann Hahn, 67, of Rochester, Minnesota, was called home on May 17, 2025 at St. Mary’s hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly was born November 8, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Forrest and Cassandra Hahn.
Beverly graduated from Chatfield High School in 1975 and attended Rochester Vocational School. She worked at numerous companies, including IBM, DairyLand and Mayo Clinic as a secretary.
Beverly married Tom Johnson on February 14, 2017. She loved him with all her heart, and he was her constant support.
Beverly was a devout Christian. She leaned into God, trusted His word, never faltered in her belief of His steadfast love. She was a strong witness and testimony of His goodness even in trying times.
God provided Beverly with many gifts and blessings. Her greatest gift was her daughter Makayla Hannah Harriet (you know the story :)) Beverly attended Makayla’s wedding to Matthew one week before her passing and was overjoyed with the news her first grandchild, Vivian, was coming!
She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and musical talent that she shared as a worship leader and on many churches’ worship teams. She also was given a vibrant sense of humor. She brought joy and laughter to every situation. She loved going to church, worshiping, decorating, rummage sales, fish fries, and old westerns.
She loved others. She strove to be Christ like. She was compassionate, kind, long suffering, and sacrificed for others hoping all would come to know Him and His love.
Beverly is survived by her husband Tom Johnson, her daughter Makayla Hannah Harriet Hahn-King (Matthew), her siblings Sharon Gartner (Norman), Wayne Hahn, Susan Vale (Everett) and many nieces and nephews. Preceding in death are her parents Forrest and Cassandra Hahn.
Celebration of life will be May 30, Friday, 2025 at Destiny Church, 3240 40th Ave NW, Rochester, MN, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, service at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help cover funeral expenses.
What can I say? There are not enough words to truly express what she means to me. “Best friend” is what I call her, and that will last through eternity. As a believer, I know in my heart that I will see her again! This is the hope that those of us in the Kingdom share.
We laughed together, cried together, and shared our friendship through ups and downs, good days and bad days.
We both love music, singing and worship. We shared some favored things like Criminal Minds, lilacs, and talking about Papa, Jesus and Holy Spirit. We shared stories of family, favorite foods, and silly jokes.
There was never any pretense or hidden agendas. “What you see is what you get” is a good way to describe Bev. I miss her, but I’m happy she’s with Jesus!
I imagine her singing and dancing with the angels. Making them laugh at her crazy jokes. Most of all though, I imagine her sitting at the feet of Jesus, smiling at Him and listening intently. There is no veil between them now. She is in her forever home.
