Sarah Marie Powell was born on a beautiful autumn day October 3, 1965 in St. Francis Hospital, La Crosse, WI to Tom and Jan (Wagner) Powell of Hokah, MN. She made her final journey on December 31, 2022.
Sarah was a graduate of La Crescent High School. She married the love of her life Rick Mathews on May 6, 2006 and they resided in Rochester, MN.
Sarah worked as a manager for Cub Foods in Rochester, a job she truly loved, until a recurrence of cancer cut her job short.
Sarah was preceded in death by her sister, Amy Kaufenberg (2020); and mother and father-in-laws, Keith and Donna Mathews.
She is survived by her husband; parents; brother, Bill (Julie); a dear close friend, Pam Wright; among nieces, aunts, uncles, and sisters-in-laws.
A celebration of life will be held at the North Star Bar, 503 N. Broadway Avenue, Rochester on Saturday, January 21 starting at 3-6pm.

jan so sorry to hear of sarah passing. from what i heard she fought til the end . it is so hard to lose a child and you losing 2 daughters . how sad. now sarah can fly high with amy. take care . my heart goes out to the family.
