  2. Sad to hear about her passing, but I am happy she is no longer in pain and she’s in a better place. I’m glad I was able to bring her some gladiolas last summer for her to enjoy. When I plant new gladiolas this spring I will think of her and remember her.

I have some of her old paintings and will cherish them. Rest in peace Arlene.

  3. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. I will surely miss the presence of such a lovable and kind person.

  5. Pam, Dustin, & family…I am so sorry for your loss. Arlene’s friendship was a gift that keeps on giving. We had a lot of fun times harvesting produce, apples & Gladiolas and riding her golf cart around. She was so good at maneuvering the cart, but I still hung on dearly as she giggled and assured me we would not tip over. She was so proud of her roadside market sales. She was a remarkable woman always on the go and truly inspired me. I am forever grateful she was in my life, and will cherish the times we shared & her beautiful perennial flowers she shared with me. Rest in peace, Arlene, your work is done…Go soar with the Angels now…no doubt you will adorn a magnificent crown. 🙂

  8. We met Arlene at a very difficult time in our lives, we are from Colorado and was back at Rochester for some treatments at Mayo. We spent around four months there . We were out on a drive and pulled into her little stand to bye apples and she came zooming out to us to see if we were the white pickup that had left money the day before. She wanted to give us some change and we told her it wasn’t us. So we started a conversation and she welcomed us like we were her family, we had to come back every six months for treatments, she insisted we park our fifth wheel in her yard so we did that trip. We spent many hours in her apple orchard just giving her a hand. The next time she fixed a home style meal for us she was a great cook. We road around with her on her golf cart and dug up gladiolus to bring home. Arlene was a very warm kind person with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. She shared many personal things with us as we did with her. She became a second mom to us, by this time we loved her with all our hearts and tried to see her each trip, sometimes she would be off gambling which I thought was awesome for her age she was 91 at the time. She also painted my husband a picture she had a great talent and it showed. Arlene we will always treasure your kind heart and you ability to laugh in adversity. It saddens my heart that she has went on to her forever home but know she will be there to greet us when it’s our time to go home. We love you Arlene and thank you for all you did for us. To her daughter Pam and Dustin thank you for excepting us also , we are so sad of this news but know she is now home with her husband and sons. With much love the Beeks

  9. Schreder families, I’m so very sorry for your loss. My parents were Warren and Gladys Grossbach and get friends of parents in Zumbro Falls and Mazeppa. I am Kevin Kautz mother, and Arlene so enjoyed our son, Wife Laura at the Zumbro Falls Golf club. Arlene so enjoyed her golf cart rides running down the road or around the golf club. Life long friends of my parents and I got to meet up with Arlene several times at the club and she smiled so much when I told her who I was. Those years with so many friends she just loved.
