Jeannette Martin passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the Edenbrook Nursing Home facility in Rochester Mn.
Born on July 16,1935, Jeannette Ethyl Boyko was the youngest daughter of Harry and Mary (Polishuk) Boyko. She had 7 brothers and sisters. Jeannette graduated from Sheyenne River Academy in 1954. After that she became a teacher and taught in a rural school for two years. She married Alfred Martin in 1956 and had two children- Neal and Jay. She farmed with Alfred for over twenty years.
In 1986 she graduated with an LPN degree which she put to use by starting her own geriatric foster home. J and M Foster Care was in business for over 20 years. After retiring, Jeannette dealt with many health problems.
Jeannette was very fond of animals, and horses in particular. She raised and bred many horses and there were few sights she would rather see than her horses galloping in from the pasture. She was also a music lover and loved to sing.
Jeannette is survived by her brother Maynard (DellaMae), her sons Neal (Chris) and Jay (Jen) and two grandsons Cole and Connor.
A memorial service will be held at the Turtle Lake Seventh Day Adventist church on Saturday August 21 at 3 pm. Refreshments will be served after the service.
