Ronald Wittfoth

 

Ronald James Wittfoth, age 74, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 with his wife by his side in Rochester. Ron had Parkinson’s Disease for the past 7 years.

Ron was born on October 18, 1946 in Pipestone, MN to Albert and Martha (Wischmann) Wittfoth. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Mankato. He lived in Pipestone, MN. Frankfurt, Germany. Rochester, MN. Mankato, MN. and settled in Rochester, MN in 1971. He was in the U.S. Army in Frankfurt, Germany from 1964 -1967. He married Allison Mercy Pettitt on June 1, 1974 in Austin, MN. He was Physical Education Teacher at Rochester Public School and a bartender for 40 years at Kahler Hotel.

Ron loved his family and his grandchildren dearly. He loved to go fishing on the Minnesota lakes and trout streams, camping and going to national parks. He enjoyed cruises to Caribbean and Alaska, and trips to Las Vegas . He was in heaven at the cabin in Alexandria. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the YMCA, Tennis Club, Rochester Golf Course, and Racquet Ball Club.

Ron is survived by his wife, Allison; daughters, Amy (Mike) Glienke of Rochester, MN, Elizabeth Larson of Rochester, MN, Emily Stilwagon of Rochester, MN; son, James (Cyndi Barnes) Wittfoth, of Elgin, MN; siblings, Janice (Walter) Reemtsma of Algona, IA, Linda Winness of Pipestone, MN, June (Rich Imhoff) McGowan of Ruthton, MN; and 8 grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Albert Wittfoth; and grandparents.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Ave SE, Rochester, MN. with Pastor Jason Burggraff officiating. Luncheon to follow at Eagles Club, 917 15th Ave SE, Rochester, MN.

  1. My sympathy to you and your family. I graduated with Ron in Pipestone in 1964. My sister in law lives up the hill from you in Rochester. They are Ted and Dorothy Kueker.
