David “Bird” Lennis

David Allen Lennis, lovingly known as “Bird,” age 43, of Olmsted County, Minnesota, passed away in the early morning hours of October 26, 2026, following an extensive battle with addiction.

David was born in Rochester MN, to Dave and Darlene Wiener. Growing up the family moved
around a lot before eventually settling back in Rochester. Bird beat to his own drum and
traditional education wasn’t for him, but he went on to earn his GED, an achievement he was very proud of. Bird was many things to many people. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. He was part of a family who loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Bird is survived by his three brothers, Charles Lennis (Kristen), Richard Lennis, and Lucas Wiener (Erica); and his sister, Tasha Wiener. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Darlene Wiener and Dave Wiener; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and other beloved
family members.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

Bird will be deeply missed by those who loved him, and he will forever remain a part of their
lives and memories.

  1. Bird was one of a kind. He was a pretty good human.
I met him through my ex. Probably one of the only friends of my ex that I liked. This was 20 years ago. Over the years he has popped in and out of my life. Usually when I least expected it. He has protected me at times, made me laugh, always had an uplifting word in my times of sadness. I will miss him so very much.
