Gerald “Bill” W. Virnig, age 65, of Chatfield, MN, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St Marys Campus.
Bill was born on October 10, 1955 in Harmony, MN to Gerald and Ruth (Colgan) Virnig. He joined the Army when he 17 years old. He married Michelle Sagdalen and they had three daughters, Dwan, Rebecca and Melissa. They later divorced. He married Mary (Ayers) Higgins on August 28, 2010 and they resided in Chatfield, MN.
Bill worked at McNeilus in Dodge Center, MN for several years and worked as a mechanic at Walmart for 13 years until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, camping, and sitting around the fire pit.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Dwan (Leo Zuehlke) Jones, Rebecca (Rikki) Oeur, Melissa (Daniel) Perez ; sisters, Maryann (Dan) Champagne, Sue (Jim) Virnig, Sandy (Wayne) Sanford; and 4 grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert Virnig, Pete Virnig.
Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2021. Memorials may be sent to Mary Virnig, 518 Main Street So., Chatfield, MN 55923.
