Carl Leonard Lokker, Jr. passed away on April 21, 2026, at Edenbrook Pine Haven nursing home in Pine Island, Minnesota. Carl was born in Rice Lake, WI, on October 25, 1930, to Carl and Beatrice (Fullerton) Lokker and grew up in Ladysmith, WI.
Carl had a long career in the banking industry working in banks in Ladysmith and Blair, WI, LeCenter, Pine Island, and ending his career as President of the bank in Morton, MN. Following his retirement, Carl fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a cheese store by opening Chanly Cheese and Gifts in Morton. After closing the store, Carl and Phyllis moved to the Cities, eventually settling in Apple Valley where Carl was the caretaker for the apartment building they lived in. He worked there until he was 87 years old. Carl and Phyllis moved to The Waters on Mayowood in January 2019 where Carl lived until moving to Edenbrook Pine Haven in January.
On July 11, 1953, Carl married the love of his life, Phyllis (Peterson) Lokker, and they would enjoy 71 wonderful years together until Phyllis’s passing in November 2024. They were truly inseparable and demonstrated what a marriage should look like. There was always laughter when they were together. The family takes great comfort in knowing that they are together again, and as one granddaughter said, “At least now Grandma has someone again to do all the things she doesn’t like to do.”
Carl is survived by three children, Ann (Carle) Murray and Lynn (Mark) Wytaske of Pine Island, MN, and Chris (Vickie) Lokker of Cleveland, MN; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and, two sisters, Shirley Rieschl of Rice Lake, WI, Arlene Matye of Osseo, WI, and one brother-in-law, Randy (Joyce) Peterson of Burnsville, MN.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Edenbrook Pine Haven for their tremendous care and concern in his final days. He truly enjoyed his time there.
A private ceremony will be held at the cemetery at a later date.
