Mark Anthony “Bogie” Boguszewski, 73, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his home on September 7, 2025.
Born to Alois and Eleanor Boguszewski and raised in Wisconsin, Mark was a devoted father and grandfather with a passion for spending time with his family, watching motorsports, football, listening to music, and reading. A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1977. For many years, Mark was a dedicated employee of the Milwaukee Road railroad, where he oversaw labor relations.
He is survived by his children, Stephanie (Karl) Fritz and Christopher (Stephanie) Boguszewski; and his grandchildren, Kyan, Erika, Avery, Bennett, Breagha, Elias, and Cora. He is also survived by his siblings, Sandy Sikowski, Thomas Boguszewski, Alan Boguszewski, and Gayle Goff, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Boguszewski.
Mark loved driving, especially in his 2024 Ford Bronco, which was matched only by his lifelong enthusiasm for motorsports, particularly open-wheel racing. This was a cornerstone of his life. He was a long-time familiar face at the Indy 500, holding season tickets for many years and sharing his love for the sport with a dedicated group of friends and family. A lifelong fan, his dream was to return to a Formula One race at Spa-Francorchamps, where he loved the famous Eau Rouge curve. Beyond the racetrack, he was an avid football fan and for a while, a Green Bay Packers season ticket holder.
Mark was known to want to make people smile, laugh, and have fun. He would often express how much he loved his life. His unforgettable sense of humor was often on display with one of his favorite jokes: “You know why Polish people’s last names end in ‘ski’? Because we can’t spell toboggan.”
He will be dearly missed. He asked that instead of a formal funeral, we all celebrate his life in our own special way.
Mark was such a blessing to our family. He was always there when we needed him and sure to provide good laughs and support a fun time. We will greatly miss his crazy sense of humor, jokes, one liners and the levity that Mark provided. Fortunately we have many, many fond memories to reflect upon because above all else he was always there for and with us.
This is a beautiful tribute to Mark and I deeply appreciate all that Stephanie and Karl Fritz are doing at this most difficult time. Thank you.
Mark will be missed greatly. Mark was always there when we needed him. His love for our family supported our relationships and fostered love, consideration, concern and caring. Mark raised my daughter Stephanie as if she was was his own. I see so many qualities in her that I know evolved from their relationship. Mark’s crazy sense of humor and love of life never went unnoticed. I will be forever grateful that Mark was there for us and in our lives. I love you Mark and will miss you more than I can ever say.
I sure love, and I’m going to miss one of my funniest uncles that I know he was a jokester. He would tell jokes all the time he would tell you how old is that’s one of the one things I loved about him is he would tell anybody how old is he was a great person and I’ll sure miss you a lot he was my goofy uncle and we also used to talk on the phone for hours about different things, and he’s always made me laugh. And yes, I will miss him constantly for the rest of my life. Love you Uncle Mark Love Danny boy
