Neva L. Omberg

 

Neva Louise Omberg (Weigel) died on August 14 at the age of 77 at Sunflower Communities in Elmore MN. Neva was born to Lola and John (Harold) Weigel on February 28, 1948, growing up at the family farm in Monfort, WI. She graduated from high school in 1966. Married Robert Omberg on May 8, 1973, and later divorced after raising their 3 kids. She enjoyed it when the carnival came to town where she worked the ticket booth and people watched. She worked at Eddy Mays for a while and then went full time with the family locksmith business.
She cherished spending time with her kids and grandkids. She loved being around family and friends.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, was an avid reader, and crocheted hundreds of afghans over the years. She found joy making crepes for the grandkids, plus teaching them the art of lefse making each year. She enjoyed putting puzzles together even though they frustrated her.  She found more recently adult coloring to be relaxing. If you knew Neva, you’d know she was quick-witted and loved to joke around. She made many friends and touched the hearts of many she met along the way.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers, Mark and Anton.
Neva’s memory will live on in her sons, Jesse (Gina), Todd (Faith), and daughter Elizabeth (Chris), along with 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
Private graveside service is planned for a later date at Calvery Cemetery in Cobb WI.

  1. She will be greatfully remembered for her time spent working at Dino’s Pizza at Medicine Lake, New Hope and Dino’s Other World. She hired me for a waitressing job at Medicine Lake and New Hope and was instrumental in introducing me to my future husband, Owen. She was a good and very special friend. We loved her dearly and spent many special times together.
    R.I.P. my friend.

  2. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Neva. She was one of our first employees at Dino’s pizza. She was a very hard-working, dependable, trustworthy person that we grew to love and enjoyed her very much like a daughter lots of good memories of Neva, knowing that she was a strong woman love talking to her haven’t talked to her for about eight years, I think it’s been time has gone by so fast. She will definitely be missed. God has blessed us with her life and she has blessed us. Much love to all the family Floyd and Judy Kruse Dino’s pizza.
