Pamela (Pam) Jean Unger, 76, passed away July 20, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Pamela Jean Unger was born on August 23, 1947 the daughter of Glenn and Elsie (Price) Wilson in Buffalo Center, IA.
She attended a one room schoolhouse in Belgrade, Montana, a few years in Elmore, MN and graduated from Lyle High School in 1965.
Pam had many jobs throughout her life, starting as a nurse’s aide out of high school at St. Mary’s. Nannying, cleaning homes, bartending and serving for many years, but out of them all, her favorite was working as a vet tech for the Veterinary Clinic in Hayfield, MN.
Pam was united in marriage to Arlen Unger on February 20th, 1966 in Kasson, MN.
The couple lived in Kasson, MN, then in Lyle, MN before moving to their forever home in Hayfield, MN in 1976.
Pam enjoyed playing softball for the Unger Scrappers in late 70’s and into the 80’s, sewing, cooking and baking, black and white western movies, cherry flavored candies, grocery shopping for good deals, spending time with friends and family, and attending a good party! She will be missed greatly by many, but always remembered for her zest for life, loving deeply, and her amazing cooking that many have had the opportunity to experience.
Pam is survived by her husband, Arlen Unger, Hayfield, MN; children, Todd Unger, Hayfield, MN; Kathy (Mark) Peterson, Hayfield, MN; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay (Jon) Jenkins, Rochester, MN; Kaity (Jacoby) Zelinske, Hayfield, MN; Chris Peterson, Hayfield, MN, 3 great grandchildren, Cameron Swank, Jaxon Jenkins and Joyner Zelinske; sister Jo Kelley, Austin, MN; sister Debra Drews, Delano, MN; brother Jim (Liz) Wilson, Farmington, MN; sister-in-law Deb Wilson, Mantorville, MN.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, Paul Wilson, and granddaughter, Katie Michelle.
