Robert William Paul Schultz, who was always known as Bob, passed away on June 26, 2024, in Albert Lea, MN. Born on September 15, 1936, in Owatonna, Minnesota, Bob was the son of the late Adolf and Sophie Schultz.
After graduating from Owatonna High School, Bob met his beloved wife, Delores (Dee). He met her when he went roller skating in Albert Lea and they were married for 65 years. They lived in the Owatonna area and had one son, Cory.
Bob worked at the Owatonna Canning Company, making gravy for their Beef Stew. (He ate a lot of it too!) He was drafted into the Army where he served for over two years. He was assigned to the Army Base in San Francisco and Dee was able to go with him. After he was discharged, they returned to Owatonna. Bob resumed his work at the canning company, and also farmed with his dad during the summer months.
For many years, Bob, his family, and some lucky friends, enjoyed fishing trips Up North. He would usually go two times per summer. In the early years to Sundown Resort on Clark Lake, and later to Two Inlets Lake and Resort. He loved to fish, either trolling for Northern Pike or Walleye, or bobber fishing for Croppies and sometimes for Sunfish or Perch. Bob also loved a good game of Cribbage and played often with his son, Cory. He also liked to do puzzles and later in life completed many with his sister-in-law and nieces.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Sophie (Schmanski) Schultz, brother, Ernie Schultz, brother- and sister-in-law, Bumper and Dee Westrum. He is survived by his wife Delores “Dee” Schultz; son, Cory (Amy) Schultz; nieces, Lori (Curt) Westrum, Jane (Eloy) Acosta; brother-in-law, Milt (Linda) Tostrud, and many other family.
A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
