Robert Thomas Nolan, 54, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus.
Robert was born on February 15,1969 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Thomas Joseph Nolan and Zita Ann (Jones) Nolan. He grew up in Hartland, Minnesota and graduated from New Richland Hartland High School in 1987. While he was in high school, he joined the Army National Guard. After graduation, Bob joined the Army full time. He was stationed in Germany for 2 years. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Bob worked as a farm hand for a while before going to Albert Lea Technical College to be an electrician. He then moved to Jackson, Minnesota where he worked at Ag Chem as a maintenance mechanic. He decided to try something different and moved to Apache Junction, Arizona where he worked as a construction electrician for a few years. He later decided he missed his home state and moved back to Minnesota where he worked as a maintenance mechanic at Crenlo in Rochester, Minnesota for 17 years.
Bob was active with the American Legion in Plainview, Minnesota before he moved to Rochester. Bob was always busy fixing anything that needed to be fixed and spent his time helping those around him. Bob had a heart of gold and lived his life his way.
Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother; and his grandparents.
Bob is survived by his sister, Ann Nolan of La Crescent, Minnesota; his aunts, Irene Lein of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and Jan Timmeraman of Rochester, Minnesota; his uncle, Robert Jones of Maine; as well as numerous cousins and friends. Father Russell Scepaniak will be officiating.
Funeral service will be at 12pm on Friday, May 12, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1315 12th Avenue NW, Rochester with a visitation two-hours prior to the service. Father Russell Scepaniak will be officiating. Military honors presented by VFW Post #1215, Rochester.
Burial will be at Fort Snelling at a later date to be determined.

Ann, we are truly sorry for your loss. We pray that he will have peace now. No longer having pain and suffering. We also pray that God will give you strength as you mourn his loss. Trust in the Lord.
